Backward Class (SC / ST / OBC) and Minority Cell

Introduction:
Government Girls General Degree College has always advocated the spirit of the Indian Constitution to provide equal opportunities to all sections of society in the sphere of higher education, especially to the Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and Minorities who are identified as backward groups. The Backward Class and Minority Cell has been formed to provide every possible support and empower the students of our college belonging to the backward and minority sections. The Indian Constitution includes Article 340, Article 29 and Article 30 for the protection and development of the backward and minority section. The college remains committed to the spirit of the Constitution for protecting the rights of students from these sections.

Aims:
  • To guide and support the SC, ST, OBC and Minority students of the Government Girls’ General Degree College in dealing with the academic and personal issues.
  • To ensure a safe and healthy environment for the students of all sections.
  • Keeping SC, ST, OBC and Minority students informed about scholarships and stipends offered by the State or Central Government, the UGC and other agencies.
  • To safeguard and protect the rights of students and follow reservation rules as stated in the Indian Constitution.
  • Immediate redressal of grievance related to issues or incidents within the college campus.
